CHM301 - Pre-test Review

Stuff u should prepare for Test 3:

i. How to name carboxylic acid derivatives (c.a.d's).
ii. How to draw c.a.d's.
iii. Most of the reactions are based on nucleophilic substitution.
iv. The reactivities of c.a.d's.

...the rest (theory, reagents, etc.), masuk2 sikit2 saja...

...& our test is 2moro, at Kimia Organik lab, from 2pm - 3pm

Be prepared, be sharped.

CHM138 - Pre-test Review

Test 2 will be conducted as follows:

Date: 15/2/2012
Time: 7 pm - 8 0m (1 hour)
Venue: DK3

Covers chapter 4 & 5. Stuff that u should read:

1. Quantum numbers (n, l, m, s).

2. The mass and atomic number - you should be able to determine the number of proton, electron and neutron.

3. Write the electronic configuration of atom / ion.

4. The atomic size, electropositivity, and etc. across and downside the periodic table.

5. The properties of oxides (acidic oxides, basic oxide or amphoteric oxide) across period 3.

CHM301 - Pre-Test 2

Salam,

Sorry for the late posting.

The content of the second test mainly will focus on amine compounds (carboxylic acid will also be included).

For carboxylic acid, pls read the following topics: c.a. preparation, c.a. derivatives (general), nucleophilic substitution.

Amine: visual test, nomenclature (name & properties - basicity and boiling point), classification, salt formation, Hofmann degradation, application.

Be prepared.
